MediaMarkt Benelux announces changes to its management board

MediaMarkt Benelux today announces the new composition of its Management Board. Following the interim period with Faruk Kocabas as General Managing Director (CEO) of MediaMarkt Benelux, a permanent successor has now been confirmed with the appointment of Olivier van den Bossche as General Managing Director Benelux as of 11 August 2025. Olivier will also take on the role of Country Manager Sales.

Country Manager Finance, Sebastiaan Stipdonk, will leave MediaMarkt at the end of September and will be succeeded on 1 September 2025 by Dirkjan Bussink.

Extensive international retail experience
Olivier has extensive international experience in the retail sector, including at Rituals, Metro AG, Galeria Inno and, most recently, as CEO at Galeria Karstadt Kaufhof. His in-depth knowledge of the Benelux market and proven leadership qualities will contribute to the further growth and customer focus of MediaMarkt Benelux.
He succeeds Faruk Kocabas who, as announced at the end of May, temporarily held the role of CEO following the departure of Remko Rijnders to Ceconomy, the parent company of MediaMarktSaturn.

Financial leadership
Dirkjan Bussink succeeds Sebastiaan Stipdonk. Dirkjan was previously CFO Benelux at C&A and held various finance and management positions at Unilever. His broad experience in finance and retail will be of great value for the further development of MediaMarkt Benelux.

Sebastiaan Stipdonk has decided to leave MediaMarkt Benelux as of 30 September 2025. Since 2017, he has held several key positions at MediaMarktSaturn, including Co-CFO in Germany and interim CFO in the Netherlands. Since 2022, he has been a member of the Management Board of MediaMarkt Benelux as Country Manager Finance, making a significant contribution to the financial strategy and growth of MediaMarkt Benelux.

Future growth
Faruk Kocabas, who has recently served as interim CEO, will continue in his role as Chief Operating Officer of the MMS Retail Group, responsible for Spain, Benelux, Poland, Turkey and B2B, and will remain a member of the Executive Committee and General Managing Director of MediaMarkt Spain.

With the new appointments to the Management Board of MediaMarkt Benelux, the management team now consists of Olivier van den Bossche, Dirkjan Bussink, Patrick van der Linden and Emine Dogan, and is ready for continued and stable growth in the future.
