An extractor hood must fit in the kitchen cupboard above the stove or hob. Therefore, measure the niche dimensions: width, depth and height.
Measure the niche width
The width of the space where the extractor hood will be installed. Choose an extractor hood that is at least as wide as your hob. Use a tape measure and measure from the left to the right. Note the width in centimetres.
Measure the niche depth
This is the distance from the back to the front of the niche. Standard widths are 60 or 90 cm. Measure from the back to the front and note the depth.
Measure the height
Ensure a height of at least 65-75 cm above the hob for optimum performance.
