MediaMarkt trade-in service

For the use of this service, you need to read the terms and conditions.

Some important - but not all - points are:

• You must be at least 18 years old.
• You are the sole owner of the device.
• You must remove all passwords that may restrict access before sending the device.

Trade-in at one of our stores:

1. Choose a store using our store locator.
2. Visit the Smartbar in our store and trade in your old device.
3. The value of your old device will be determined by one of our Smartbar staff.
4. If you agree to the trade-in amount, you'll receive a MediaMarkt gift card with the value of your traded-in device.
5. When purchasing a new device, you can use the MediaMarkt gift card to receive a discount on your purchase.

Trade-in via the website:

1. Open the trade-in page in a web browser.
2. Search for your device in the product categories or enter the name manually.
3. Select the exact name of the device you want to sell.
4. Answer the questions about the condition of your device.
5. You'll receive an offer for your old device.
6. Upon completion of the sale, you'll receive a shipping label via email.
7. Send the device with the shipping label to our partner, Foxway.
8. Wait for confirmation of the purchase and receive the purchase value as a gift card in your email.

• Mac Mini and Mac Pro
• Chromebooks
• Gaming consoles

The trade-in value is determined by two factors:

1. The trade-in value is based on the current market value, which means that the value of your device can vary daily. For instance, the older your model, the lower the trade-in value may be.
2. The condition of your old device also determines the trade-in value. This is assessed based on factors such as:

• Your device must power on.
• The key functions must still be operational.

To disable 'Google Smart Lock', follow the steps below:

1. Select 'Settings' on your Android device.
2. Go to 'Lock screen and security' (for Android 8.0 version).
3. Scroll down and tap on 'Other security settings'.
4. Navigate to the 'Advanced' section and select 'Trust agents' (in English, this is 'Trust agents').
5. Turn off 'Smart Lock'.

If your Apple iPhone or iPad has iOS 7.3 or newer, you need to disable the device lock before visiting one of our stores. This can be done at home to avoid long waits in our stores. Below are the steps to do this via a web browser or on the device you want to trade in:

Using a web browser:

1. Go to iCloud.com.
2. Navigate to "Find My".
3. Click on the device you are going to trade in.
4. Click on "Erase This Device".
5. You will see a pop-up with the text "Unable to erase device. Prepare for repair or trade-in?"
6. Click on "Continue".
7. Done! Now the iCloud check indicates that the iCloud lock has been disabled.

To disable 'Find My iPhone', follow the steps below:

1. Open "Settings" on your iPhone.
2. Tap on your name.
3. Select "Find My iPhone".
4. Turn off "Find My iPhone".

You can find the model or serial number in the 'Settings' application of your smartphone under 'General' or 'Device Information'.

If you use the MediaMarkt trade-in service in the store, you will receive the MediaMarkt gift card immediately after handing in your old device. If you use the trade-in service via our website, you will receive your gift card by email after we receive and inspect your traded-in device.
