Handing in electrical appliances
You can easily hand in your old (broken) appliance free of charge when you buy a new one. How you do this depends on the size of the appliance and your personal preference:
- You give it to the delivery driver when your new product is delivered.
- You make an appointment to have it collected by our carrier.
- You drop it off yourself at a Bpost point.
- You hand it in at one of our stores.
On this page, you will find detailed instructions on how to arrange this.
Handing a small appliance to the delivery driver
If it concerns a small appliance, such as an electric shaver or toaster, you can easily and free of charge give your old, broken appliance to the Bpost delivery driver when your new product is delivered, or drop it off at the nearest Bpost service point. Simply follow these steps:
- Pack the old product in a box.
- Click the link and follow the steps to create the shipping label.
- Print the shipping label and stick it on the box.
- Hand in the box at the nearest Bpost service point or give the box to the delivery driver.
Please note: the parcel may weigh a maximum of 30 kg and its dimensions may not exceed 50 cm x 30 cm x 30 cm.
Please note: you can give the driver a maximum of 2 parcels at a time. You can also dispose of small electrical appliances in the blue box you will find in supermarkets, DIY stores, electrical shops, etc.
Handing a large appliance to the delivery driver
Do you have a large appliance, for example a broken fridge or washing machine, that you want to hand over? This can be done easily and free of charge when your new product is delivered. There are two options:
- If you selected an additional service with your order, such as installation or positioning and connection, the delivery driver will take your old appliance from the location where the new one is placed.
- If you selected standard delivery, the delivery driver will take your old appliance from the first lockable front door at your home.
The following conditions apply when handing over a large appliance:
- Your old appliance must be of the same type as the new one. For example: if you order a new washing machine, you can only hand in your old washing machine.
- The old appliance must be clean, dry and disconnected, ready for collection.
Have you not yet bought a new appliance, but would still like your old one to be collected? In that case, we will be happy to work with you to find a suitable way to dispose of the old product in an environmentally friendly manner. Please consult our customer service page for the available contact options.
