The Kingston® IronKey™ Keypad 200 series consists of OS-independent, hardware-encrypted USB Type-A and USB Type-C®* drives with an alphanumeric keypad for easy PIN access. The KP200 series is FIPS 140-3 Level 3 validated for military-grade security with enhancements that raise the bar for data protection and offers XTS-AES 256-bit hardware encryption. The electronics are coated with a special epoxy layer that makes it virtually impossible to remove components without damaging them. This hard epoxy resists attacks on the semiconductor components.

KP200 offers XTS-AES 256-bit hardware encryption. It is also FIPS 140-3 Level 3 (pending) certified for military-grade security with enhancements that further raise the bar for data protection. The electronics are coated with a special epoxy layer that makes it virtually impossible to remove components without damaging them. This hard epoxy resists attacks on the semiconductor components. The tamper-evident design alerts owners to drive manipulation. The drive also offers brute force password attack protection and BadUSB protection with digitally signed firmware. The alphanumeric keypad features a protective polymer coating that shields the keys and prevents fingerprint analysis of key usage.
KP200 has a built-in rechargeable battery that can be used to unlock the drive without software before connecting it to a device that supports a USB mass storage device. This offers users the most flexibility across different platform types and operating systems.
With the multi-PIN option, the keypad can be used to set an easy-to-remember but hard-to-guess alphanumeric PIN for the administrator or the user. The administrator can recover a user PIN and grant access to the drive if the user PIN is forgotten or if the drive is locked after the user's maximum of 10 login attempts. If a PIN is set for the administrator and the user, the user PIN will be locked by the KP200 after 10 failed login attempts. If an incorrect administrator PIN is entered 10 times in a row, the brute force attack protection will cryptographically erase the drive, permanently destroying the data and resetting the drive.

The USB drive also features a two-level read-only mode (or write protection): a global mode that the administrator can set and a session mode that the user can set. The read-only mode protects the drive from malware on untrusted systems. Additionally, the administrator can load data and set the global read-only mode, allowing the user to access the data but not modify it.

KP200 drives with a capacity of 512GB and KP200C drives with capacities of 64GB-512GB deliver fast dual-channel performance.

KP200 meets the FIPS 140-3 Level 3 specification published by NIST for military-grade security. This is an enhanced version of the FIPS 140-2 specifications that further increases security capabilities and tamper resistance. OS and device independent
Thanks to KP200's rechargeable battery, the keypad can be used to unlock the drive without software before connecting it to a system that supports a USB mass storage device. This offers users the most flexibility across different platform types and operating systems.

Multi-PIN option
Users can set up a User mode or an Administrator/User mode. Administrator can be used to recover a user PIN and grant access to the drive if the user PIN is forgotten or if the drive is locked after the user's maximum of 10 login attempts.

Global and session read-only mode (write protection)
Both the administrator and the user can set up a read-only session mode to protect the drive from malware on untrusted systems. The administrator can also set a global read-only mode that puts the drive in read-only mode until it is reset.
