The AES 256-bit hardware encryption seamlessly secures all data on the drive in real-time. You enter the password on the built-in keypad. The hard drive's password is not stored in the computer's or system's volatile memory, making it much more secure than software encryption. If the device falls into the wrong hands and an incorrect password is entered 20 times, the hard drive locks itself and can only be reused after formatting.

The hard drive connects via USB 3.1 GEN 1 with a USB-C connector. It is compatible with both PC and Mac and delivers super-fast data transfer*. The package also includes a USB C-to-USB A cable and a USB A-to-USB C adapter so you can connect all sorts of devices. It can also be connected to TVs, which is not possible with regular encrypted hard drives.

As an extra precaution, the Nero Backup software is included so you can back up all your files, folders, and drives from your laptop or PC at any time.
