You want to vacuum your car, but you’re not quite sure how to get started. Is it best to clean the interior of your car with a cordless stick vacuum or a corded model? Which brushes and accessories do you need for this? MediaMarkt is happy to show you the way.

Is it best to use a cordless vacuum cleaner to vacuum your car?

A cordless vacuum cleaner will always give you more freedom of movement when vacuuming the inside of your car. So, it’s definitely worth considering a stick vacuum, such as the Samsung Jet. Pay attention to the battery life of the cordless vacuum so you can vacuum your car in a single go. Do you have a corded vacuum cleaner? Then park your car near a socket or use an extension lead so you can reach everywhere properly while vacuuming.

What is the most convenient cord length?

If you want to use a traditional bagged vacuum cleaner or a bagless cylinder vacuum to clean your car, check the length of the power cord beforehand. The longer the cord, the more easily you can reach every spot. We recommend choosing a vacuum cleaner with a cord of at least 8 metres for an optimal operating radius. Of course, an extension lead can also save the day if your vacuum has a shorter cord.

Which accessories do you need?

With most vacuum cleaners you get accessories such as different brushes and nozzles for all kinds of cleaning jobs. To vacuum your car, the crevice tool and upholstery nozzle are particularly useful. The former is a narrow nozzle that lets you tackle the hard-to-reach areas in your car. For example, it makes it easy to clean the space between the car seats. The upholstery nozzle helps you remove dust from the seat covers, car mats and rear panel.

Which brushes should you choose?

Has it been a while since you last vacuumed your car? A powerful brush, such as a turbo brush, makes short work of grass, coarse dirt, hair and accumulated dust in your car. Some surfaces, on the other hand, require a gentler approach. It’s better to vacuum your dashboard, speakers, air vents and other delicate parts with a soft dusting brush to prevent scratches.

How often should you vacuum your car?

You take care of your household and personal grooming every day, but fortunately you don’t need to vacuum your car daily. Once a month is generally a good rule of thumb. Of course, you can vacuum your vehicle more often if you have the time and feel like it. If you frequently transport your pets, it’s probably a good idea to clean the interior more regularly.
