In Ridley Scott's "Alien," the crew members of the Nostromo spacecraft are on their way back to Earth after completing a mission when they are diverted to an asteroid to investigate a cryptic message. They come across a stash of unhatched eggs. When one of the eggs releases a mysterious creature, the others retrieve it back aboard.
