During the holidays, Ned (Bryan Cranston), an overprotective but loving father, goes with his family to visit his daughter in college. Here Ned meets his worst nightmare: his daughter's friend Laird (James Franco), a benevolent but socially awkward Silicon Valley billionaire. The stern and prudish Ned finds Laird, who has no filter at all, totally no match for his daughter. The one-sided rivalry gets completely out of hand and Ned's panic attacks increase as he gradually feels less and less at home in the glamorous high-tech environment and he finds out that Laird is ready to pop THE question to his girlfriend.
