Robert Miller is top man of a financial empire and pater familias of a seemingly happy family. He seems to have it all - money, power, a beautiful wife and a talented daughter who works in his business. But behind the scenes, Robert is deeply in debt and needs to sell his company before the corpses come out of the closet.

His decision to escape for a weekend with his mistress, the beautiful artist Julie, gets him into even deeper trouble. On the way, their car crashes after which Robert finds fanatical detective Michael Bryer after him. It seems a matter of time before his shiny facade collapses. Robert must go to extremes to preserve what is dearer to him than his fortune; his family.
