The Instant Pot® sealing ring is an integral part of the Instant Pot® safety mechanism. It is designed, developed and manufactured with the optimal material to achieve the hardness and strength required to withstand the high pressure forces during electric high-pressure cooking.

Instant Pot® sealing rings are tested and approved by UL, FDA and LFGB for safety, including food safety. To ensure your Instant Pot® continues to perform as intended, use only genuine Instant Pot® sealing rings with your Instant Pot® appliance.

It is recommended to replace your Instant Pot® sealing ring every 12–18 months. However, the sealing ring is porous and can absorb odors and discolor. To prevent discoloration and odors, you may want to replace the sealing ring every 6–12 months.
