It is designed, developed and manufactured with the optimal material to achieve the hardness and strength required to withstand the high pressure forces during electric pressure cooking. The Instant Pot® sealing rings have passed the UL, FDA and LFGB tests for safety, including food safety. To ensure that your Instant Pot multicooker continues to perform properly, only authentic Instant Pot® sealing rings are used in your Instant Pot multicooker. It is recommended to replace your Instant Pot sealing ring every 12-18 months. However, the sealing ring is porous and can absorb odors and discolor. To prevent discoloration and odors, you can replace the sealing ring every 6-12 months.
