EA Sports FC 27 is the latest edition of the popular annual football simulation series. This new instalment introduces new players, exclusive competitions, and an all-new game mode designed to take the football experience to the next level. Here's everything you need to know about the game.

EA Sports FC 27 is one of the most anticipated games of the year. As with every new season, this edition delivers an updated football experience featuring the latest kits, recent transfers, new players, and refreshed ratings based on performances from the past year. You'll be able to enjoy your favourite club and players across several iconic game modes, including Kick-Off for local matches with friends, Manager and Player Career, Clubs, and Football Ultimate Team, the flagship mode of the EA Sports FC franchise.

When will FC 27 be released in Belgium?

EA Sports FC 27 is scheduled for release on 25 September 2026 on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2 en pc. All game modes will be available from day one. As usual, Football Ultimate Team will kick off the season with a launch event available at release. At this stage, EA hasn’t revealed any details regarding the content or theme of this opening event. EA Play subscribers will also be able to access a 10-hour trial version starting on 18 September 2026, one week before the official launch.

Will EA FC 27 feature an open-world mode?

The biggest confirmed addition in the latest trailer is FC The Grounds, the brand-new open-world mode in EA FC 27. It's the first time the franchise has introduced an open-world experience. Based on the first footage, players can explore three districts: Montclair in France, Zeiza in Argentina and Parkside in the United Kingdom. To help you navigate the map, you'll be guided by 4 mentors: Kylian Mbappé, Paulo Dybala, Chloe Kelly and Alex Hunter. The latter, the iconic protagonist of The Journey game mode, returns 7 years after his last appearance. Inspired by the social hubs found in other sports games, this new mode lets players interact with each other, take part in mini-games, complete a variety of challenges and enjoy a strong focus on street football. Players can also customise their avatar and freely explore the open world. FC The Grounds complements the game modes already available in previous EA FC titles but is closely connected to the Clubs mode. Both FC The Grounds and Clubs will only be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC and Nintendo Switch 2.

Is Ultimate Team available in EA FC 27?

Football Ultimate Team remains the most popular and widely played mode in the EA Sports FC franchise, and it's available from the moment you start the game. Build your dream squad using Ultimate Team player cards, assemble your favourite footballers and compete against players from around the world online. As you play matches and take part in competitions, you'll earn rewards, unlock new player cards and gradually strengthen your squad to stay ahead of the competition. EA FC 27 also introduces new Hall of FUT cards featuring legendary footballers. Belgian midfielder Marouane Fellaini joins the line-up alongside players such as Mario Balotelli and Hatem Ben Arfa. In addition, the existing roster of Heroes and Icons continues to grow. According to the reveal trailer, Sergio Agüero, the former Argentine striker who played for Atlético de Madrid, Manchester City and FC Barcelona, is one of the headline additions to the Class of 2027. Another new feature is the FUT Gallery. This mode allows you to preserve your club's legacy by collecting player cards and completing collections based on clubs, leagues and special events. As your gallery level increases, you'll unlock additional rewards.

Are there any new gameplay features in EA FC 27?

The EA FC 27 reveal trailer introduces several gameplay improvements and gives a clear idea of the direction EA Sports is taking with this year's release. The developer appears to have listened to player feedback regarding automated defending. A greater emphasis has been placed on manual defending, reducing the impact of AI on defensive play, which is a change many players have been asking for. Attacking player movement has also been improved. To make the game feel more realistic, players no longer run only in straight lines, creating more attacking options and making it easier to catch your opponent off guard. One-touch passing has become faster and smoother as well, allowing you to build quick possession sequences and maintain a high tempo.

Set pieces have also received an overhaul. During corner kicks, tactical routines and attacking patterns now adapt to players' runs, giving you more options and creativity when attacking from dead-ball situations.

Does EA Sports FC 27 include the Belgian Pro League and the Red Devils?

The Belgian Pro League is fully licensed in EA Sports FC 27. All 18 clubs from Belgium’s top division are included with their official names, badges, and kits. As for the Belgian national team, no official licence is currently available. You’ll still be able to play as Belgium, but the team will feature a generic, unlicensed kit rather than the official Red Devils uniform.

Who is on the cover of FC 27?

Kylian Mbappé is on the cover of EA Sports FC 27. Mbappé plays for Real Madrid and the French national team. Bellingham was the face of EA Sports FC 25, while he shared the spotlight with Jamal Musiala of FC Bayern Munich for EA Sports FC 26.

What platforms is FC 27 available on?

EA Sports FC 27 is available on all major gaming platforms, including PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch and PC. According to EA Sports, the Nintendo Switch 2 version will, for the first time, offer an experience comparable to that of current-generation consoles, with features and content aligned with the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions. As in previous editions, cross-play is supported, allowing PlayStation, Xbox, and PC players to compete or play together online. If you prefer to play only with users on the same platform, you can disable cross-play in the game settings.

When can you pre-order FC 27?
