Replace the piston ring regularly! 2x EXCELLENT 54 mm ring suitable for Solis espresso machine with piston / portafilter Every Solis espresso machine / piston machine has a rubber sealing ring, to connect the portafilter properly to the machine. This holds the filter holder in place and this ring ensures that the water only flows through the coffee, so that no water leaks along. Replace this ring at least once a year, or if you experience one of the following problems: Water leakage along the filter holder. The filter holder can be turned further than usual. This ring is also called Group ring, Piston ring, Steam Head ring, Gasket, Steam ring, Piston rubber or sealing ring. To replace the ring, you need tweezers and an Allen key. Watch the instruction video and/or follow the steps below: Step 1: Machine preparation Perform the following actions to prepare the machine for maintenance: Turn off the machine and unplug it from the power outlet. Wait until the machine has cooled down completely. Remove the bean grinder. Remove the drip tray and water reservoir from the machine. Carefully lay the machine on its back for easy access to the brewing unit. Step 2: Removing the old steam ring Follow these instructions to remove the old steam ring: Use a brush to brush coffee residues from the group head of the brewing unit. Remove the screw from the brewing unit. Use an Allen key or flat-head screwdriver for this, depending on your type of Solis machine. Remove the silver plate from the brewing unit. Clean all remaining coffee residues from the silver plate and inside the machine. Remove the old steam ring, possibly using tweezers. Step 3: Installing the new steam ring To install the new steam ring, follow these steps: Take the new Eccellente steam ring (piston ring) for Solis. Orient the ring so that the smooth side faces inward. Carefully place the new steam ring in its position and ensure it is securely seated. Reattach the silver plate and the screw. Tighten the screw firmly. You are now ready, time for an espresso!
