Indicator light and 'cold-touch' handles

The contact grill from alpina works on electricity. You only need to plug it into the wall socket to make the device work. As soon as you turn the toaster on, a red light on top starts to glow. When it shoots to green after a while you know the panini grill is ready to use. Note the multigrill can therefore get hot. Fortunately, you can open and close it safely thanks to the presence of "cool-touch" handles. The non-slip feet on the underside of the sandwich grill ensure that it can stay firmly on any surface. 

Easy to clean 

The panini iron from alpina features a ridged blade with non-stick coating. As a result, food does not stick to the multigrill and you can easily wipe it clean after use. At the bottom of the contact grill is a removable drip tray. Waste, such as fat coming off meat or bread crumbs, is collected in it. This removable drip tray is also easy to clean after use. The plate of the contact grill is not removable and therefore not dishwasher-safe.
