The new blood oxygen sensor consists of four LED clusters and four photodiodes. This new sensor is integrated into the completely redesigned crystal on the back and works with the Blood Oxygen app to measure your blood oxygen level.
Illuminating.
Green, red, and infrared LEDs shine into the blood vessels in your wrist, and photodiodes measure how much light is reflected back. Advanced algorithms then calculate the color of your blood, from which the amount of oxygen present can be derived.

With the ECG app, the Apple Watch can take an ECG, similar to a 1-lead ECG. This is a major achievement for a wearable device – it can provide doctors with critical data and give you peace of mind.
