Where to place your smoke detector?

In the Netherlands, it is legally required to have a smoke detector on every floor and in enclosed spaces through which an escape route passes.

• Escape routes: Install smoke detectors in hallways and near stairs, especially if they lead to bedrooms. This way, smoke is detected quickly, allowing you to react in time.
