Where do you place your combination detector?

A combination detector is a smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector in one. Smoke rises and carbon monoxide spreads through the air. Due to this difference, there is no single perfect place for the combination detector, but it entirely depends on your situation.
In the Netherlands, it is legally mandatory to have a smoke detector on every residential floor and in enclosed spaces through which an escape route runs.
In Belgium, it is legally mandatory to have smoke detectors on every residential floor. In Flanders, you must install at least one smoke detector per floor; in Wallonia, this is also required, but if the area is larger than 80 m², two smoke detectors must be placed.

In addition to complying with legal obligations, we advise you to optimize safety in your home by installing combination detectors, smoke detectors, and/or carbon monoxide detectors in strategic locations:
