The FRITZ!Box 5530 Fiber offers the full range of FRITZ!Box functions directly at the fiber optic connection. Various fiber optic technologies are used in the Netherlands. The FRITZ!Box 5530 Fiber Edition XGS-PON comes with a suitable SFP module for XGS-PON connections. To securely distribute gigabit speeds wirelessly throughout the home, the FRITZ!Box 5530 Fiber is equipped with the Wi-Fi 6 standard, a 2.5-gigabit LAN port completes the high-speed equipment.
Innovative Wi-Fi 6 for a network with many Wi-Fi end devices
The new Wi-Fi 6 standard takes into account the ever-increasing number of Wi-Fi devices. From smartphones, tablets, PCs, 4K televisions, and speakers to smart video cameras and doorbells: more and more devices are used simultaneously in the Wi-Fi network. By reducing latency, Wi-Fi 6 ensures fast and stable data transfer. A total bandwidth of 2,400 Mbit/s is available in the 5GHz band and 600 Mbit/s in the 2.4GHz band for many parallel applications. At these high transfer speeds, Wi-Fi 6 also offers technologies and mechanisms for longer battery life of mobile devices in the network.
Strong as a central unit in the Mesh Wi-Fi network
As Mesh Master, the FRITZ!Box 5530 Fiber ensures the best Wi-Fi quality throughout the entire network. Distributed Wi-Fi points (e.g., FRITZ!Box and multiple FRITZ!Repeaters) are combined into one smart Mesh Wi-Fi network. With the integrated Mesh Master function, the FRITZ!Box 5530 Fiber actively controls all other access points, so that the Wi-Fi end devices used in the network are always connected to the access point with the best connection. Mobile Wi-Fi devices automatically switch between access points without interrupting active applications.
Telephony options for everyone
The integrated VoIP telephone system has a connection for an analog telephone and a DECT base station for up to six wireless phones (e.g., all FRITZ!Fon models). Even IP phones and smartphones become full-fledged phones via Wi-Fi that can be used to make calls on the fiber optic connection. With an integrated answering machine, local and online phone books, and numerous comfort functions, telephony – even for professional applications – leaves nothing to be desired. Smart home devices, such as the FRITZ!DECT 440 four-way switch or the FRITZ!DECT 500 LED lamp, can be integrated via the DECT base station.
