Easy to use with touchscreen and multi-function knobs

Find the right embroidery design, edit it, and place it using drag and drop with the 5-inch color touchscreen optimally placed in the center of the machine. Refine the size and position of your embroidery motif using the multi-function knobs. Access the tutorials for tips on using your machine and embroidery unit.

Plenty of space and bright lighting for your sewing projects

Keep an overview thanks to the four bright LEDs that optimally illuminate the 230 mm work area to the right of the needle. The free-arm extension table provides extra space and comfort for large sewing or quilting projects.

Decorative stitches and quilting stitches for enchanting embellishments

Of course, with the b79 you can sew straight stitches, zigzag stitches, stretch stitches, or buttonholes. However, the machine has much more to offer: create beautiful embellishments with 133 decorative stitches and 35 quilting stitches. Want to adjust an existing stitch or create your own stitches? It's all possible with the Stitch Designer. Your individual stitch settings are temporarily saved; additionally, you can save them in the personal memory for future projects.

Tie-off function and automatic thread cutter

With the tie-off function, you no longer need to sew backward to secure a seam. Simply press the tie-off button and the seam is automatically secured. Then press the automatic thread cutter button, the threads are cut, and the seam is finished! Want to speed up this process even more? Program these functions onto the pedal with back-kick function: one tap with your heel is enough!

More comfortable sewing

With the semi-automatic needle threader, threading is a breeze: the presser foot is automatically lowered into the correct position, and the thread can be secured in the side thread cutter before threading. The knee lifter for raising and lowering the presser foot makes sewing even more comfortable, as your hands are free to guide the fabric. Additionally, the integrated, easily activated dual feed ensures that all types of materials are transported evenly.

Thanks to the three embroidery hoops, it's easy to find the right hoop for every size of your embroidery designs. You can embroider motifs up to 260 x 160 mm without changing hoops. The embroidery hoops are easy to open and close with a quick-release system. The automatic hoop recognition displays the corresponding embroidery area on the touchscreen, allowing you to optimally adapt your embroidery design.

Creative possibilities with embroidery patterns

With 208 integrated embroidery patterns and 7 embroidery alphabets, you have a wide selection of patterns to choose from. The motifs can be edited on the touchscreen, you can rotate and mirror them, or combine them. Want something truly unique? Upload your own embroidery patterns via a USB stick, or patterns you have created, edited, and combined in one of the optional BERNINA software packages. The b79 is compatible with most embroidery formats; you no longer need to convert files with a software program.

For the best sewing and embroidery results

With the 7 mm stitch plate, you can sew beautiful decorative stitches with a stitch width of up to 7 mm. Additionally, the straight stitch plate is supplied as a standard accessory with the b79, the ideal stitch plate for perfect embroidery results. Your machine automatically recognizes the attached stitch plate, displays all compatible needles, and automatically adjusts the stitch width.
