Frequently Asked Questions
Q1: Why do I need Charger 1? How does it compare to the cigarette lighter port?A1:A standard cigarette lighter port in a 12V vehicle delivers about 100W, while a 24V vehicle delivers about 200W. Charger 1, on the other hand, provides up to 560W of power while your vehicle is running, allowing you to charge your charging station much faster than with a standard cigarette lighter.
Question 2:Which vehicles are? compatible with charger 1?A2:The charger 1 can be used with any vehicle with a 12V or 24V starter battery, including RVs, vans and trucks.
Q3: Can I use the charger 1 for Hybrid or electric vehicle use? A3:The charger 1 can be used with hybrid vehicles, as long as the vehicle is equipped with an alternator and a starter battery. However, it cannot be used with electric vehicles because their charging and battery management systems work differently than those in conventional gasoline vehicles.
Question 4: Will the charger 1 drain my car's battery? Should I turn it off every time?A4:The charger 1 has an intelligent algorithm that monitors the connected battery. It automatically stops drawing power from the car battery 3-6 seconds after the engine is turned off, preventing the battery from draining. While the engine is running, charger 1 remains active and can be controlled via the BLUETTI app, allowing you to start and stop charging your charging station as needed.
Q5: Will charger 1 damage my car's battery or affect its life? A5:No, charger 1 monitors the voltage of your car's battery and adjusts its performance accordingly. When the battery voltage is low, Charger 1 reduces power; when the voltage is high, it increases power. When the battery voltage drops below 12.0 V/26.0 V, charger 1 activates undervoltage protection and stops charging. With proper maintenance, your vehicle's battery will last as long as intended, even when using Charger 1.
Q6: Does using Charger 1 affect my vehicle's fuel economy? A6: Charger 1 uses excess energy from the alternator to charge your electric charging stations, which has a minimal impact on fuel consumption.
Q7: Is it safe to install Charger 1 yourself, since it must be connected to the vehicle's battery? A7: Yes, Charger 1 will Supplied with a 6AWG cable and a circuit breaker. By flipping the switch on the circuit breaker, you can safely disconnect the cable, preventing electrical shock or sparks during installation. If you are unsure, it is always best to ask a professional for help.
Q8: What tool or preparation do I need to install Charger 1?A8:To work on the car, you will need a wrench accumulating and installing the cable lugs. If you want to mount the Charger 1 on the side of your trunk, you will need a drill and a board. Be sure to leave plenty of room for ventilation. The Charger 1 also comes with a small hex screwdriver for connecting the cables.
Q9: Does the Charger 1 need to be installed or hung exactly as described? A9:No, you can put the Charger 1 in a position that suits you, as long as you make sure you have enough room for proper ventilation.
Q10: Can I install it even if I know little about cars/vehicles?A10:Of course! While working under the hood may seem intimidating at first, installation is easier than you might think. We provide a detailed instructional video that guides you through each step. The hardest part is usually laying the cable from the engine compartment to the trunk, but with our instructions you can do it in no time!
Question 11: Why does the optional input cable come with a 60A circuit breaker? A11:The 60 A circuit breaker is used to protect your vehicle, the charger 1 and the power station. In the unlikely event of a high current surge, the circuit breaker automatically shuts off, disconnecting the charger 1 from the vehicle's battery and protecting all connected components.
You can easily reset the circuit breaker by flipping the lever backwards to reconnect. This is a user-friendly and reliable solution to protect your devices.
Question 12: Is it necessary to purchase the optional input cable? What should I do if I already have my own cables?A12:The optional input cables are not required; If you prefer a do-it-yourself approach, you can of course use your own cables. However, for optimal safety, we recommend using 6 AWG cables. Our package also includes tube clamps and OT clamps, so you can easily do the installation with your own cables.
Q13: Why is my Charger 1 not charging my electricity station when my car is running?A13:If your Charger 1 is not charging. Follow these troubleshooting steps:
1. Turn off the engine and make sure all cables are properly connected. Make sure the positive and negative cables are properly connected and secured.
2. Restart the engine and watch the indicator light on Charger 1. Read the owner's manual to see what the light indicates and whether Charger 1 is functioning properly.
3. Run the engine for a while to allow the car battery to fully charge. Charger 1 is designed not to operate when the car battery is low.
If these steps do not solve the problem, contact our support team for further assistance.
Q14: Which charging stations are compatible with Charger 1? Can it charge third-party power stations?A14:Charger 1 is compatible with all BLUETTI power systems, as well as third-party power systems or solar generators that use MC4 connectors for solar charging. Please note that in rare cases, a third-party charging station may have an unstable charging rate.
Q15: Do I need to adjust the settings of Charger 1 for different power systems?A15:Yes, once Charger 1 is activated, you will need to adjust the "charging voltage" to the specifications of your power network. This can be done easily through the BLUETTI app.
The default output voltage of Charger 1 is 27V, which is ideal for smaller power plants such as the AC2A, EB3A, EB55, EB70S, AC60 and AC50B. A higher output voltage is recommended for larger power plants such as AC70, AC180, AC180T, AC200MAX, AC200L, AC240, AC300 and AC500.
Q16: Can I save a specific charging setting for a charging station? ?A16:Yes, you can save a specific charging setting as the default for a charging station. However, remember to adjust the charging voltage if you are using Charger 1 with a different power source.
Q17: Why does my BLUETTI Power Station not charge with the specified 560W?A17: First, check that the power supply Station connected to Charger 1 is capable of 560W DC/Solar charging input.
Next, check the output voltage of Charger 1. The default setting is 27 V, but to achieve a 560 W charge, set Charger 1 to an output voltage of 56 V.
Q18: Will Charger 1 work if my car gets very hot in the sun? A18: Yes, charger 1 is designed to operate in temperatures from -4°F to 140°F / -20°C to 60°C. If it gets too hot, the built-in fan automatically turns on to cool the device and prevent overheating.
Question 19: How much current does the Charger 1 actually draw? A19: The Charger 1 draws a maximum of 50 A from 12V vehicles and up to 25A from 24V vehicles.
Question 20: Why is the 560 W output power of Charger 1 six times faster than normal car charging? A20: Normal car charging can reach 100 W through a 12V cigarette lighter port, but this often drops to about 80 W. In contrast, Charger 1 provides a constant output of 560 W, which is about six times faster than charging through a cigarette lighter socket, as laboratory tests have shown.
Question 21: What battery voltage is the Charger 1 designed for? suitable?A21:
For 12 V vehicles:
12.5 V: Switch on
12.6 V: Start the charging process
12.0 V: End the charging process
For 24 V vehicles:
25.0 V: Turn on
25.2 V: Start the charging process
26.0 V: Charging finish
Q22: Can I connect two Charger 1 devices in parallel to charge my power plant?
A22:No.
