The dull coastal town of Zandwijk aan Zee is rocked by the arrival of the sword-fighting and rum-drinking pirate family Thunder Bus. While the dull local residents don't like the watch shark and house octopus, eleven-year-old Michiel, despite their differences, befriends the tough pirate boy Billy.
