De'Longhi Magnifica S Descaling Instructions STEP 1: remove the water reservoir from your machine, remove the water filter (if present), and empty the water reservoir. Pour 100ml of Eccellente Lactic Acid descaler into the water reservoir and fill it to the max. mark with water. Place the water reservoir back into your machine and place a bowl or container under the coffee spout and steam wand. Your DeLonghi machine will dispense primarily water and descaling solution through the steam wand during descaling. STEP 2: press and hold the descaling light for 3 to 5 seconds to start the descaling procedure and turn the steam knob from 0 to 1. Your machine will, in phases, run the complete descaling solution through the machine and dispense it via the steam wand. STEP 3: the machine indicates that the water reservoir is empty. Turn the steam knob from 1 to 0 and empty the collection bowl / container. Rinse the water reservoir thoroughly, fill it with water, and place it back into the machine. Place the collection bowl back under the coffee spout and steam wand and turn the steam knob from 0 to 1. The water reservoir will be completely used to rinse the machine.
