The ICY BOX IB-AC703-U3 for a 2.5" SATA hard drive/SSD consists of a SATA III to USB 3.0 adapter including power supply and a plastic housing. Both can be used separately or together. Via USB 3.0, the adapter can be connected directly to a USB 3.0-compatible computer, media player or similar, achieving transfer speeds of up to 5 Gbit/s. The plastic housing also accommodates the adapter when the hard drive is in use. Without the adapter, it serves for dust-free storage of a 2.5" SSD/hard drive.
