Carmen has started a new life under a new name. She no longer has any contact with her family. Her brother Irwan is in prison, where he marries a heavily pregnant Hanneke, Carmen's girlfriend. Father André is also still in prison and learns that he does not have long to live. Carmen lives in the country with her children and has declared Amsterdam off limits, even for the children. She is happy with her new life and her new love John. But then as a bolt from the blue, the illusion of safety is rudely disrupted....

Justice asks Carmen to come and testify against her brother and accomplice Ooms, to confirm the details of the stick she handed over at the time. And while Irwan is already making cases from the bin, Carmen tries to make a good deal with the help of a lawyer. But she finds the children opposite her. There is nothing left but to confront her brother in court.
