Those who live there every day may not always realize it, but Europe is a fantastically beautiful continent. With 740 million people relatively densely populated, but nevertheless rich in diverse landscapes and animal and plant species. The unique photography project Wild Wonders of Europe - supported by the World Wildlife Fund, National Geographic Society, Nikon, Epson and Nokia - sent 69 of the best nature photographers on expeditions to all corners of Europe. From the North Cape to Gibraltar, all 48 countries of Europe were captured in razor-sharp photographs. The photographers' enthusiasm was apparently contagious, because an outdoor exhibition linked to the project in The Hague attracted as many as 1 million visitors. And what is perhaps best of all: during the implementation of the project it was proven beyond doubt that European nature is making a remarkable comeback. We also see this happening in our own country; not for nothing, a wolf has already been seen in the Veluwe and bald eagles are born every year in the Oostvaardersplassen. It is precisely in the Netherlands that European nature lives as never before!
