At the end of World War II, Stan Vandewalle (Kevin Janssens) meets boxing trainer Max (Jan Decleir) in a prison camp. Max soon realizes that Stan has all the physical attributes as well as the character to become a boxing champion. As a tribute to his deceased brother Aloïs (Stefaan Degand), Stan is determined to become the greatest boxer of all time. He wins camp after camp and nothing seems to be able to stop him. Together with Max, he trains extremely hard to reach his goal. But the road to the top turns out to be littered with many temptations. Kets and Planon (Josse De Pauw), who have ties to the Cuban mafia, try to get Stan in their power with money, alcohol, beautiful women and drugs. Will Stan be strong enough to make his dream come true, or will he become a plaything of the mafia?
