Voice recording

Pin microphones (also called lavalier or tie-pin microphones) are perfect for recording voices. The small size makes this microphone quite inconspicuous, but the sound quality is a lot better than your phone's internal microphone.

This tie-pin microphone has a 1.5-metre cable.

Headphone jack

The microphone has a 3.5 mm mini-jack connector (TRRS, for smartphones). The pin microphone can also be connected to laptops and tablets with a TRRS connector.

Note: this microphone fits into a phone's headphone jack. Many new smartphones no longer have a headphone jack. In that case, you can use an adapter (usually included with your phone) to connect the microphone.
