SONY Playstation 2 - PS2 Fat Console 0 GB

The heart of the PlayStation 2 is the 128-bit Emotion Engine processor, which combines ultra-fast gameplay and unprecedented graphical quality with DAT stereo sound. As a result of these improved capabilities, games specifically made for the PlayStation 2 are much more realistic and virtual opponents in the competition are much smarter. The system is designed as an upgrade to the original PlayStation architecture; disk-based software and Dual-Shock 2 controllers will feel immediately familiar to PlayStation fans. Furthermore, owners of the original PlayStation do not have to discard their existing game collection: the PlayStation 2 is backward compatible with software from the classic PlayStation game system. The power of the PlayStation 2 lies in its additional entertainment value: it also functions as a DVD player and can therefore play thousands of feature films and other video programs, thereby far surpassing the VDS format in terms of both optical and sound quality. With most DVD films, alternative audio tracks, supplementary film material, and many other features can be selected. And just like with the first PlayStation, audio CDs can also be played with the PlayStation 2. The PlayStation 2 is designed with future expansion possibilities in mind. The console is equipped with two USB ports and a PCMCIA Type III expansion slot, the latest standard in PC connection technology. It also features Sony's proprietary i.Link interface, allowing it to be connected to a variety of high-tech Sony products, from digital cameras to laptops. (Brett Atwood)
