What does this product do?

The TL-SG1008PE is a gigabit desktop/rackmount switch with 8 connections that support the PoE+ standard. It provides an easy way to expand a wired network by transferring power and data over a single Ethernet cable. With a total power budget of 124 W and max 30 W per connection, the TL-SG1008PE can power a variety of power-hungry devices such as wireless access points (APs), IP cameras and IP phones. With its innovative power-saving technology, the TL-SG1008PE can save up to 75% on power consumption, making it an eco-friendly solution for your business network.

How does this product work?

ThAlle 8 connectors of the TL-SG1008PE support the Power over Ethernet Plus (PoE+) standard, detecting and powering any IEEE 802.3af/at-compliant device. In this situation, power is supplied along with data transmission through a single cable, allowing you to extend your network to places where there is no power supply and you want to install devices such as APs, IP cameras, or IP phones.

Overload Protection

The TL-SG1008PE has a priority function, which protects the system from overload. If the power consumption of all PoE+ devices is greater than or equal to 124 W, a priority is assigned to the 8 PoE connections, and the system shuts off power to the connection with the lowest priority.

Priority function for connections.

*Priority (port 1 - port 2 - port 3 - port 4 - port 5 - port 6 - port 7 - port 8): this function protects the system when the power supply is overloaded. For example, if connection 1, 2, 4 and 7 each use 30 W (max power supply per connection is 30 W, for the whole system 124 W in total) and another device is connected to connection 3 with 25 W, the system turns off the power supply to connection 7 because the power supply exceeds the 124 W limit. This means that socket 1, 2 and 4 each use 30 W and socket 3 uses 25 W and socket 7 no longer receives power because it has the lowest priority of the sockets in use.

Easy to use

The TL-SG1008PE is easy to install and use. No configuration or installation is required. With its desktop/rackmount design, excellent performance and quality, the TL-SG1008PE gigabit switch with 8 gigabit connections including 8 with PoE from TP-LINK is an excellent choice for expanding your home or office network.
