Which cables you use depends on your laptop's connections and video support. The screens can be connected via a combination of USB-C, HDMI, and USB-A.

For video via USB-C, the respective USB-C port on your laptop must support video output, for example via DisplayPort Alt Mode or Thunderbolt.

Flexible connection via USB-C and HDMI

How you connect the TYVON Tri Screen Monitor depends on your laptop's connections and video support. The monitor comes with various cables, allowing you to connect the screens via USB-C and/or HDMI.

When using USB-C for display, your laptop's USB-C port must support video output, for example via DisplayPort Alt Mode or Thunderbolt. Not every USB-C port supports video.

If a suitable USB-C video connection is not available, HDMI can be used for video transmission. USB-C or USB-A can then be used for the necessary power, depending on the connection.

MacBook Compatibility

MacBooks with standard M1, M2, or M3 chip:
These models do not natively support two separate external displays in the way required for this Tri Screen setup. Therefore, this version is not suitable for using both extra screens simultaneously.

MacBook models with support for multiple external displays:
MacBook versions and chips that support multiple external displays may be suitable. This includes certain Pro, Max, Ultra, and newer Apple Silicon configurations.

As the capabilities vary per MacBook model, chip, and year of manufacture, we recommend checking in advance how many external displays your specific MacBook supports.

For proper functioning, it is important that your laptop has the correct connections. A USB-C connection does not automatically mean it can transmit video. For video via USB-C, support for, for example, DisplayPort Alt Mode or Thunderbolt is required.
