Portable Store 'n' Go external hard drives are formatted in FAT32, allowing you to use them on Windows OS and Mac OS systems.

For added security, Nero BackItUp Essentials software is supplied for backing up the external hard drive of your laptop or PC. BackItUp Essentials offers an application that allows you to back up all your files, folders and drives at any time. Or you can set up the automatic backup function for extra security.

The Nero BackItUp Essentials software is compatible with Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 8 (not compatible with Mac OS).

Verbatim's portable Store 'n' Go external hard drives also come with energy-saving Green Button software. Green Button software ensures that the hard drive does not spin when it is not in use. This increases efficiency and saves energy.

There are three options for the 'Sleep Setting'. You can activate the drive suspension after 10 minutes or in increments of 10 minutes up to 120 minutes. You can activate the drive suspension immediately by double-clicking the Green Button icon on the desktop, or you can select 'Never Suspend the disk'.
