In this exciting new Cinemax® action series from the creator of True Blood, we follow the adventures of Lucas Hood (Antony Starr), an ex-prisoner who, through a confluence of circumstances, becomes sheriff of a rural Amish village while searching for a woman he last saw 15 years ago, when he turned himself in to the police so she could escape after a jewel heist. Carrie Hopewell (Ivana Milicevic), who has assumed a different name and lives in Banshee, is now married to the local district attorney, has two children (one of whom may be Lucas's) and is desperately trying her best not to be in the spotlight - until Lucas arrives and shakes up her world and rekindles old passions. Adding to that, corruption is rampant in Banshee and an Amish overlord, Kai Proctor (Ulrich Thomsen), is ruthlessly building an empire of drugs, gambling and bribery there. With the help of Sugar Bates (Frankie Faison) - formerly a boxer, now a bartender - Lucas manages to keep Kai and his thugs in check, and may even provide some justice in Banshee. But Lucas' thirst for robbery eventually puts him and Carrie in a dangerous situation, made worse when it turns out that Mr. Rabbit (Ben Cross), the New York con man they once robbed, is out for revenge.
