You will see that there is an alarm in the group, but not which detector it started with.
• Control and monitoring in one app: With the free Tuya Smart or SmartLife app, you receive notifications for alarms in the group, view the notification history, and share access to the smart detector with others. You will only see the Aroha Smart Connect & Link smoke detector in the app, not the Aroha Link smoke detectors.

Where to place your smoke detectors?

In the Netherlands, it is legally required to have a smoke detector on every living floor and in enclosed spaces through which an escape route passes.

In addition to meeting legal requirements, we advise you to optimize fire safety in your home by installing smoke detectors in strategic locations:

• Escape routes: Install smoke detectors in hallways and near stairs, especially if they lead to bedrooms. This way, smoke is detected quickly and you can react in time.
• Bedrooms: Install smoke detectors in or near bedrooms, so the alarm can alert residents even at night.
• Living rooms: A smoke detector in the living room is important, especially if there is a fireplace or other heat sources.
• Near the kitchen: Do not place a smoke detector directly in the kitchen due to the risk of false alarms from cooking fumes. Hang it near the kitchen, or choose the Aroha Heat Detector for the kitchen itself.
• Within range of 2.4 GHz WiFi: Place the Aroha Smart Connect & Link Smoke Detector within WiFi range for a stable connection. You yourself do not need to be within WiFi range to receive notifications.
• Range of the linked group: Aroha Link detectors have a range of up to 100 meters (without obstacles).
• To avoid: Bathrooms, garages, and other damp or dusty areas increase the risk of false alarms.

• What do I see during an alarm? You will receive a notification in the Tuya Smart or SmartLife app that an alarm is sounding in the group, but not which detector it started with.
• Can I add the detector to an existing Aroha Link network? Yes, up to a maximum of 30 Aroha Link detectors, within a range of 100 meters (without obstacles).
• What does the mute button in the app do? Only the Aroha Smart Connect & Link Smoke Detector is muted. You mute the other Aroha Link detectors using the button on the detector itself.
• Can I link multiple Aroha Smart Connect & Link Smoke Detectors together? Yes. You will see them all in the app, including battery status. In case of an alarm, you will receive a notification from all detectors, but you cannot see where the alarm originated.
