The Z40 PRO uses a dedicated ASR5311 GPS chip (L1 band, 1575.42 MHz) for positioning accuracy of 5–50 meters in open fields — significantly more accurate than systems relying solely on LBS or WiFi. Indoors, the watch automatically switches to WiFi positioning (10–100 m), and in urban areas, LBS (100–1000 m) serves as a fallback option.

Via the companion app, you can define electronic zones (geofencing): as soon as your child enters or leaves a set zone, you will receive a real-time push notification. The physical SOS button on the side activates a loud alarm and automatically sends an emergency notification with the current location to all your designated contacts — no menus, no searching, one press is enough.

With a 1.85-inch diagonal and 280×320 pixel resolution, the Z40 PRO's display is the largest and sharpest in the BLACKVIEW children's smartwatch range. The 1.85 mm tempered glass capacitive touchscreen is fully laminated (no air gap = better readability in sunlight) and features an anti-sweat coating — precise operation even with wet or dirty fingers.

Six local watch faces are pre-installed; more can be downloaded via the app from an online library. The large icons and intuitive menu structure make operation understandable even for early readers.

The Z40 PRO is designed from the ground up as an outdoor-ready children's watch. The IP68 certified casing (49.50 × 40.80 × 16 mm) is completely dustproof and protected against prolonged immersion in fresh water up to 1.5 m depth. The silicone watch strap with UV modification is resistant to sunlight, sweat, and daily use without discoloring or becoming brittle.

Two physical buttons (Power + SOS) provide tactile feedback and can be operated with gloves. For safety in the dark, there are three integrated LEDs: a white 0.5W flashlight for the way home, plus two red 0.5W warning lights.

In Bluetooth standby, the watch lasts over 7 days without charging — ideal for school camps or weekend trips. With active location tracking, regular calls, and display usage, you still get a solid 2 days.

Charging is done via the magnetic 4-PIN connector on the back of the casing, which also serves as a data transfer interface. Charging time is approximately 2 hours (0–100%). A low power warning at 15% remaining capacity is automatically sent to the parent app.
